How fast can you scroll? Test your mouse wheel or trackpad speed.
Scroll anywhere to start!
Use your mouse wheel, trackpad, or swipe to scroll as fast as you can
This test measures how fast you can scroll using your mouse wheel, trackpad, or touch gestures. In 5 Second Sprint mode, scroll as fast as possible for 5 seconds and we'll measure your peak and average speed. In Distance Race mode, scroll a total of 50,000 pixels as fast as you can. In Endurance mode, maintain scrolling above 1,000 px/s — stop and the test ends.
Speed is calculated using the browser's native wheel event delta values, measured in pixels per second. Both upward and downward scrolling count. Your results are saved locally so you can track improvement.
Gaming mice with free-spin scroll wheels (like the Logitech G502 or MX Master) can reach extreme speeds. Enable free-spin mode by pressing the scroll wheel unlock button. Increase your OS mouse scroll speed in system settings. For trackpads, use two-finger swipe with momentum. On mobile, use quick flick gestures.
Average users scroll at 2,000-4,000 px/s. Fast scrollers hit 8,000-15,000 px/s. Free-spin gaming mice can exceed 50,000 px/s. Trackpad users typically range 1,000-3,000 px/s.
Significantly. Standard notched wheels have fixed steps. Gaming mice with free-spin modes allow continuous rapid scrolling. Trackpads use momentum-based scrolling which varies by OS settings.
Using the browser's wheel event deltaY values (pixels). Total absolute scroll delta over time gives pixels per second. Both up and down scrolling count.
Yes! Touch scrolling works via touch events. Swipe up or down quickly in the test area. Mobile scroll speeds are typically lower than desktop due to the touch input method.
